Sandi has exhibited widely in Britain, and demonstrated traditional lacemaking in Valenciennes and at an exhibition in Paris including her work, which then toured France and Belgium.

Sandi’s own book, “Special Effects in Bobbin Lace” was published in 1998 and reprinted in 2000. A second book, also published by BT Batsford, “Alphabet Inspirations in Coloured Bobbin Lace” was published in 2004.

Sandi exhibits her work, lectures and tutors workshops worldwide, specialising in the design and use of colour in lace. This has included many lecturing and teaching assignments for The Lace Guild at their summer school, conventions and workshops, she will be their invited ‘Author in Residence’ at the Convention in 2015.

Marjory Carter personally invited Sandi to exhibit her work at The Lace Society’s Rally in 2002 held in Cheltenham. In addition, Sandi has taught and lectured at Sudeley Castle for The Lace Society in 2010 and returned in November 2013.

A regularly invited tutor for Jane Dickinson’s Great Escapes Weekends, Sandi has tailored her courses to suit these specific events. Many participants return on a regular basis.

Squeezed into late 2010, Sandi was invited to take part in The Californian Poppy Project, working the supplied poppy design using her own particular colour techniques. The Poppy Project Exhibition will be touring Europe and the USA for the next few years.

The beginning of 2012 saw the debut of Sandiwoods Publishing.  An opportunity to exhibit an advanced form of megalomania.

In 2016, Sandi has again been invited to The Winter Lace Conference in Los Angeles and to teach for the IOLI in Indianapolis, also to be found teaching at The Lace Guild’s AGM and Great Escapes weekends in the UK.

Over the last few years Sandi’s two daughters were both married and sadly rejected her kind offer of making them a commemorative d’oily each, or even a set of coasters...preferring, as they said, ‘One of the epics, please’. So, each had an epic section of ‘The Grand Scheme’ re-designed, personalised and worked in celebration of their weddings. A third personalised section of ‘The Grand Scheme’ has now been worked to celebrate the first grandchild, to be followed by a further section for the second grandchild. Eventually, this ‘Grand Scheme’ will be worked in its original form and in its epic entirety, hopefully before Nelson gets his eye back.

Nelson is having to wait a little longer to get his eye back...

mainly due to the production of the Occasional Oddities booklets, containing a myriad of original patterns, obtainable directly from the author*.
