Yes, the Tiny Willow Birds are flocking in to perch on their favourite Willow Tree Stump......
At the moment, there are only three to be seen happily pecking at their grubby snackettes, but wait! Inevitably, their flocking friends will duly arrive, en masse......in all probability!!!
The Tiny Willow Birds are worked using Piper’s Silk Floss in just four tones of blue. Basic lacemaking stitches may be used throughout, but here their tiny wings have been worked using the Milanese braid, Lattice 1, which adds an extra dimension of interest, both visually and for the lacemaker working them!
These Tiny Willow Birds have tiny shiny black glass eyes......all the better to spot the lacemaker working on the gnarled and rotting old tree stump.
With a mixture of Piper’s 80/3 Spun Silk and *90/3 Gloss Silk, in a tonal selection ranging from white through to the darker blues, the lacemaker works her magic on the tree stump. Using just the basic lacemaking stitches, in her own way, the lacemaker indicates with the colours, the gnarled remains of the ancient, and now rotting, tree.
The Tiny Early Birds delight in pecking at the tasty insects and grubs that the tree so generously gives host to - not to worry though, there will be plenty for everyone to enjoy!
Q: How many Tiny Willow Birds constitute a flock......?
A: Until the lacemaker loses the thread......
