Better late than never, for the Blog’s news this month......
Perhaps against our better judgements, Blue Coppice and I set off on ‘April Fools Day’ to visit the amazing city of Florence, for a much longed for cultural indulgement of the senses. We were not to be disappointed - though our poor feet would probably beg to differ!!
The weather was, from time to time ‘interesting’, but undaunted we battled through the odd shower of torrential rain, refreshing our minds with amazing Art and the odd glass of Prosecco. Health and fitness was maintained by climbing all 463 of the Cathedral steps to the top of the Dome, inspecting many miles of pavement and magnificent marbled mosaic floors*, and strolling through some of the most inspiring architecture landscaped gardens imaginable...though we did reward ourselves by sampling the local delicacies on offer - it would have been churlish not to!
*Just two sections of the multi-patterned marbled mosaic floors in the Baptistery, which may have inspired the odd lace pattern.........or was it vice-versa?!?
