Has Spring really sprung? Discuss......
The figure above appears to think so - the photo, a sculpture of the ballet dancer David Wall, was taken when walking/painfully staggering back to Pimlico Underground Station.
The day had been spent dancing the ‘Gallery Shuffle’ in London’s Tate Gallery at the recent (and truly magnificent) Pre-Raphaelite Edward Burne-Jones Exhibition. It was one of the most illuminating and extensive exhibitions I’ve ever seen, as my poor foam-filled trainer-clad feet would testify. It was wonderful to see entire series of works as they would have been originally hung in their room settings. Excellent and well worth staggering home with painful aching feet and brains!
Earlier in the day, we (‘Blue Coppice’ daughter and myself) had visited an absolutely charming exhibition of childrens’ books, featuring cat illustrations, staged by The British Library......
It was the first time I’d been to the British Library at its new site, so I was absolutely amazed and astounded to see the ‘winter forms’ of seemingly ‘my Partridge in a Pear Tree’ as metal sculptures decorating the forecourt!
I’d like to think it’s a case of great minds thinking alike......or is someone else likewise afflicted?!?
At least mine won’t go rusty!
