Stewed Brains, followed by Black Lace in St.Augustine!

It’s a later than usual Blog this month......
I’ve recently returned from a wonderful trip to Florida’s Palm Coast, where I had been invited to impart more words of dubious wisdom to some enthusiastic lacemakers...it’s a hard life!
These intrepid lacemakers, some of whom were to be newly initiated to the insanity of silken vegetables and other beasts, had cast the caution of traditional lace to the wind and embarked on a voyage of delightful fun!
Brains were stewed over the Carrots and Parsnips, which accompanied a few Splitting Hares thrown into the pot, with a desert of Pears......all served up in glorious technicolour from a mainly Milanese recipe.
There was some time left, after the Great Feast of Lacemaking, for my wonderful hosts to take me on a trip northwards along the coast for a jaunt to St Augustine. This was for a feast of an entirely different, though absolutely delicious, nature! While we ate this most delicious lunch*, we could feast our eyes on a wonderful view of St Augustine through the black ‘lace’ ironwork on the balcony of the restaurant.
*The restaurant, famed for its beers, had the most extensive and varied beer list that I’ve ever come across! Fabulous food...lobster and shrimp tacos with really great black beans...then Key Lime Pie to die for!
