The Christmas Vegetables - TV Life imitating Lace???
The Christmas Vegetables - TV Life imitating Lace???
Tuesday, 1 January 2019
Normally, television adverts just pass me by, unless they’re really interesting...
So! When earlier in December, just passed, I happened to catch yet another supermarket advert* extolling the merits of using their particular establishment’s festive offerings, I was amazed to find myself confronted by a cavorting carrot, an evil parsnip**and even an aubergenie!
Yes, dear readers, the vegetables have found fame and the bright lights of stardom at last!
This begs the question: When did the lace veggies first shine in the light of stardom?
The answer: In the early morning garden mists of time...2013 to be precise!
It leaves me wondering whether there’s a lacemaking advertising executive out there, somewhere?!
*There are several adverts featuring the Kevin the Carrot, The Evil Parsnip and Aubergenie which may be viewed on YouTube.
** There are definitely no evil characters in my booklets: ‘The Silk Root, Food for Greedy Rabbits‘ and ‘Second Helpings for Greedy Rabbits’ , just beautiful silk lace creations in wonderful colours. Note: ‘Just Desserts, for Greedy Rabbits’ are stewing in the pipeline of the poor author’s brain.
