New Recruits for Fancy Flights......
New Recruits for Fancy Flights......
Sunday, 30 April 2017
This month sees three more new recruits taking to their wings......
Yesterday, they had their inaugural public flight at *The Lace Society’s AGM, accompanied by two other squadron members from previous postings.
Their appearance was very well received and many lacemakers are now anticipating their eventual release from captivity. Alas, their special flight time has not ‘quite’ been called yet, there are still a few more recruits waiting to spring into active service!
The Butterflies formed part of an exhibition of my work featuring many of the methods I have developed over the year to (invisibly) change the colours of threads, in any position, allowing the design to be worked using colours in a descriptive way.
I was also given the opportunity to expand on my colour changing techniques at the workshop I tutored during the afternoon, and hope that my students found it as enjoyable and rewarding to tie their brains into colourful knots, as I do......twitch......twitch......safety in numbers......twitch......
